Psychiatry is about far more than prescribing medicine, or at least it should be. We are not 'pill pushers', our goal is to analyze a client's problem and work towards a variety of solutions.

We start by taking the time to learn about our client, their life history, problems, goals, and fears. Then, we work together to create a realistic, evidence-based treatment plan.

We frequently recommend a combination of lifestyle modifications (sleep hygiene, diet, physical movement), psychotherapy, and other neuroscientific strategies (light control, behavioral activation) to help improve symptoms.

For many people, medication can be very beneficial. However, patients often feel nervous with the idea of taking medicine to improve mental health, and that's OK!

We will take the time to discuss options and answer questions about potential side effects, length of treatment (short-term versus long-term; daily versus as needed), and risks.

My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapies, ancient and medieval philosophies, the spiritual traditions of the Catholic Faith, and Frankl's logotherapy to emphasize perpetual optimism, hope, and meaning.
